This afternoon, Governor Pritzker issued a new Executive Order 2020-10 requiring all Illinoisans to stay at home beginning Saturday, March 21, at 5:00 p.m. through April 7, 2020.
The statewide order is comprehensive and will impact all aspects of life within Illinois. Persons may only leave their residence for specific, limited reasons.
Please carefully review the Executive Order, which contains the details that are available at this time.
Although the order is very specific and contains detailed definitions as to what is and is not permitted, there are not necessarily clear answers to every scenario imaginable at this time.
Note the order specifically states that individuals may leave their residence to engage in outdoor activity such as walking, hiking, running, or biking and may go to public parks and open outdoor recreation areas if they comply with the Social Distancing Requirements defined in the order, but PLAYGROUNDS MUST BE CLOSED. (Section 5).
Places of public amusement, whether indoors or outdoors, including but not limited to, water parks, aquariums, zoos, museums, children’s play centers, and playgrounds are prohibited (Section 3).
